On February 6th, 1998 around 4 o’clock p.m. his career came to a sudden end in a crash with a bus which drove too fast. After the news of his tragic death the pop world was shocked. Around the world there were obituaries on him, statements, and all kinds of wild theories about his death. FALCOMANIA began.

His last wish to publish his last CD "Out of the Dark" came true in February 1998. There were singles which were called "Out of the Dark" and "Egoist". His CD earned platinum and double platinum like in the good old times when he was still alive. The video clips were among the most frequently sold items in German pop history. Many books were following.

"I will fly through the universe as a melody "

Falco left us his unmistakable music which will glow as a star on the international music sky for many decades. With his philosophical and, sometimes poetic, lyrics he wrote history and he left us many messages, so that it will take us many years to get through his heritage. The school of poetry in Vienna, where he was a teacher, will follow his ideas, to open an academy for rock and pop music (they took Paul Mc Cartney as a model). His idea of life after death is as he said in his lifetime: "Don’t worry, I will fly through the universe as a melody."

The only paradise you can’t be expelled from is memory! What stays, is the inextinguishable memory of a genial musician, poet, and a great personality. The line "Out of the Dark, into the Light" has overtaken Hans Hölzel.
